Houston Healthcare
Serving one of the fastest growing areas of the state, Houston Healthcare has expanded to meet the healthcare demands of Warner Robins and the surrounding area. Through Houston Medical Center, Perry Hospital, Houston Heart Institute, the Houston Health Pavilion and the Houston Lake Med-Stop and Rehab Center, Houston Healthcare offers an array of services including surgery, orthopedics, neurology and sleep studies, lithotripsy, PET/CT, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), cardiac catheterization, vascular studies, digital mammography, interventional radiology, psychiatric and behavioral health, oncology, obstetrics, and intensive care for medical, surgical, and neonatal patients. The Houston Occupational Health and Wellness Center offers physical exams, substance abuse testing, injury care and management, functionality testing, work conditioning, and safety evaluations.
Houston Medical Center, a 237-bed facility located in Warner Robins, features The Surgery Center, The Women's Center, diagnostic imaging services, pain treatment center, and a 24-hour emergency department with specialized rooms for cardiac and trauma care.
In 2009, Houston Medical Center completed a $75-million expansion including the Northwest Tower, Central Energy Plant, and an addition to the Houston Heart Institute. The 130,581 square-foot Northwest Tower provides Houston Medical Center with additional medical/surgical beds and observation/23-hour patient beds, including dedicated orthopedic, pediatric, post-partum, intensive care, and step-down care units.
Houston's Behavioral Health Services offer innovative therapy in the treatment of mental, emotional, and addictive disorders. The professional staff of psychiatrists, nurses, social workers, counselors, and therapeutic recreation specialists provides treatment in an attractive, comfortable setting.
The Women's Center at Houston Medical Center, delivering more than 2,000 babies each year, features birthing suites, newborn and neonatal intensive care nurseries, all within an area of the hospital specially designed for women's healthcare. In-room sonograms and a state-of-the-art fetal monitoring system are additional features of The Women's Center.
The Surgery Center utilizes the latest and most progressive technology to support board-certified surgeons in performing surgical procedures. Directed by board-certified anesthesiologists, the Houston Pain Treatment Center provides evaluation and treatment for patients suffering from chronic pain.
The Houston Heart Institute provides cardiovascular diagnosis and care, including cardiac catheterization, pacemaker insertion, stress testing, echocardiography, Holter monitoring, and vascular studies.\

Perry Hospital
Meeting the needs of the
growing population of Perry and south Houston County, the 45-bed
Perry Hospital offers primary and specialized healthcare
services such as CT scanning, MRI, mammography, respiratory
care, laboratory, intensive care, and a 24-hour,
physician-staffed emergency department, in addition to physical
therapy and rehabilitation through its transitional care
program.
Perry Hospital's Surgery Center offers the latest laparoscopic and endoscopic procedures. The center, which provides outpatient and inpatient surgery, includes modern operating suites, endoscopy suites, and separate pre-operative and recovery areas for adult and pediatric patients.
A
service of Heart of Georgia Hospice, an inpatient hospice and
palliative care unit, is also located at Perry Hospital. This
six-bed facility offers a warm, home-like setting to provide
24-hour nursing care for patients during the last stages of
life.

Houston Heart Institute
Excellent
cardiovascular care is available through the Houston Heart
Institute. Located on the campus of Houston Medical Center, the
Heart Institute offers a comprehensive cardiac catheterization
laboratory equipped with sophisticated equipment for diagnosis
and treatment of cardiovascular disease. Echocardiograms and
Holter monitoring are also available.
Health Connections, a
service of the Houston Heart Institute and Houston Healthcare,
is an outpatient rehabilitation program designed to help people
who have experienced heart disease or pulmonary disease improve
their quality of life and return to full, productive lives.
Conveniently located in Houston Mall, Health Connections offers
a comprehensive program including individualized exercise
therapy, education, and counseling.

Houston Health Pavilion
As the demand for
medical care on an outpatient basis continues to increase,
Houston Healthcare has responded with the Houston Health
Pavilion, an ambulatory care facility located within the Houston
Mall in Warner Robins.
The Pavilion Diagnostic Center offers mammography, bone densitometry, CT scanning, nuclear medicine, digital mammography, and fluoroscopy services. Board-certified radiologists and radiology technologists trained and registered in diagnostic imaging staff the center.
The Pavilion also includes a Med-Stop for minor injuries and illnesses; the Pavilion Rehabilitation Center, which offers physical therapy, occupational, and speech therapy services; and EduCare, community education services provided by Houston Healthcare.

Med-Stops
Houston Lake Med-Stop,
located on Highway 127 adjacent to Matt Arthur Elementary School
in Kathleen, the Pavilion Med-Stop at Houston Mall, and
Emergency Care at Lake Joy on Highway 96 offer walk-in urgent
care services. The Med-Stops provide a convenient alternative to
the technical services of an emergency room. A physician and
registered nurse, as well as radiology and lab personnel, are on
duty at all times to treat common medical problems such as minor
pains, insect bites, sprains, colds, and flu. The Med-Stops
offer convenient hours of operation for today's busy lifestyles.

Houston
Occupational Health and Wellness Center's purpose is to maximize
an employee's health status and to keep people healthy and
working. Services include physical examinations, substance abuse
testing, travel medicine, injury care and consulting,
prevention, and education. The center offers expert attention to
injury, illness, and workers' compensation cases. The goal is
for patients to return to work, possibly with job restrictions
that might result in a light duty assignment.

EduCare - Community Education & Services
Houston Healthcare is committed to educating the community on
the importance of good health and wellness through its EduCare
program. EduCare offers a variety of classes, seminars, and
support groups such as diabetes management, weight loss, breast
health, heart disease, smoking cessation, childbirth
preparation, first aid, CPR, and more.
Helping people find the right physician is also a service of Houston Healthcare through HealthSource, a free physician referral and health information service. The computerized database includes information such as medical specialty, office hours, location, insurance and healthcare plan participation for more than 100 physicians and dentists.

Houston County Volunteer Medical Clinic

Partner Agency)
Staffed by volunteer physicians, nurses, and healthcare
professionals, the Volunteer Medical Clinic opened in January
2005 as the first clinic in Houston County to serve the primary
care needs of the working uninsured. To date, the clinic has
enabled more than 600 adults who live and work in Houston County
to receive regular medical care and improve their health status.

Medical Center of Central Georgia/Central Georgia Health System
Not far from Warner Robins, The Medical Center of Central Georgia, an entity of Central Georgia Health System, is a designated Level I Trauma Center and Magnet hospital for nursing and serves the residents of Central and South Georgia with a primary and secondary service area of 30 counties and a population of nearly 750,000 people.
With more than 4,800 employees and a medical staff of more than 530 physicians, MCCG is the second largest hospital in Georgia, with a capacity of 637 beds including medical-surgical, obstetric, pediatric, psychiatric, cardiac intensive care, neurology intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and cardiac surgery intensive care.
Thirty-four beds are leased to Regency Hospital of Central
Georgia, a long-term, acute-care facility.
Central Georgia
Rehabilitation Hospital, an entity of CGHS, partners with MCCG
to provide a 58-bed, medical-rehabilitation hospital for
pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
MCCG is the primary academic hospital for Mercer University
School of Medicine, providing residency programs for more than
100 residents. MCCG provides a broad range of community-based,
outpatient diagnostic, primary care, urgent-care, extensive
home-health and hospice-care services, as well as comprehensive
rehabilitation services.

Houston County Health Department
The Houston County Health Department provides a myriad of services to the public. Women's Health Services include family planning information, breast exams, Pap smears, and referrals for mammograms. Home visits by registered nurses are provided for Medicaid-eligible mothers. The visits include a physical exam for mother and child, health education, and referrals. Childcare classes are also available.
Child health services provided by the health department include well-child check-ups for children birth through age 19 and immunizations.
The health department also offers sexually transmitted disease treatment; assistance with applying for prescription assistance; HIV testing; eye, ear and dental screening; flu shots; various lab tests; and work physicals. Additionally, the health department offers travel vaccines via its travel clinic and medications by appointment only.

Senior Health
Healthcare services for senior citizens are available through
Houston Healthcare. Seniors may also receive quality medical
care from community health clinics or through home health
services.
The Middle Georgia Regional Commission serves as
the state-designated Area Agency on Aging, responsible for
coordinating the overall planning, administration, and
development of a comprehensive service system for the elderly
and/or their caregivers of Middle Georgia.
More than $10.5
million in funding is administered by the AAA through the Older
Americans Act and the Community Care and Services for the
Elderly Act. The commission administers the Community Care
Services Program, a Medicaid program that establishes a cost
savings to the state of more than $15,000 per client per year,
as well as the Non-Medicaid Home and Community Based Services
Program.
